Answers to common questions
Which file formats are supported?
We support PDF, images (JPG, PNG, GIF) and Word documents. The limit is 100 MB per file. You don't need to scan anything — just take a photo of a receipt, invoice or contract with your phone and upload it as a regular photo.
Are my data backed up and encrypted?
Yes. All data is encrypted and regularly backed up. We encrypt documents already when uploading to storage and their transfer takes place over secure SSL/TLS connection. Additionally, we create automatic daily backups, so you won't lose them even in case of server outage or error.
Can I use an API?
Yes. We make API available from the Pro plan. Each plan has its own limits — for example, number of queries per minute, maximum response size or number of connected applications. These limits protect service performance and ensure consistent response.
How many documents can I have?
The number of documents depends on the storage size in your plan: • Free: 500 MB • Basic: 10 GB (approx. 10,000 PDF documents) • Pro: 100 GB (approx. 100,000 PDF documents) • Enterprise: unlimited The document count estimate is based on an average PDF file size of approximately 1 MB. The actual number may vary depending on the size of your documents.
Do you offer a 14-day money-back guarantee?
Yes. If you cancel your subscription within 14 days of your first payment, we will refund the full amount, no questions asked. Available to both consumers and businesses. The Free plan is forever free without commitment — no card and no time limit.
Can I export my data anytime?
Yes, with one click you can download a complete ZIP archive with all your documents and a JSON file with all metadata. Your data is always yours — no vendor lock-in.
Do you provide a DPA for GDPR?
Yes. A Data Processing Agreement (DPA) under Article 28 of the GDPR is automatically concluded at registration as part of the terms of service. On request, we will send you a separately signed PDF — just write to info@dokumentarna.cz.
Can I import documents from Google Drive or Dropbox?
Yes, via bulk drag & drop upload — pick a folder from Drive/Dropbox and upload all files at once into Dokumentárna. Direct API integration is in the works.
How is this different from Google Drive or Dropbox?
Drive and Dropbox are storage. Dokumentárna is document management. With us you also get: AI metadata extraction from invoices, alerts for contract expirations, custom fields, complete audit log, roles and permissions, document signing, EU servers, automatic GDPR DPA and an open API.
How fast can I set up Dokumentárna?
Registration takes 60 seconds. You can upload your first documents immediately via drag & drop. Full setup (custom fields, roles, alerts, sharing) takes around 30 minutes following the setup wizard.
